A full-time role located in Amherst, compensation is based on experience.
Amherst Mushroom Company is seeking a dependable, hands-on leader to oversee daily operations at our indoor gourmet mushroom farm. This role combines cultivation, harvest management, staff supervision, inventory, order fulfillment, deliveries, weekend farmers' markets, and general farm operations.
The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, and comfortable leading a small team while working alongside them. Two years of mushroom cultivation experience is preferred but not required. Experience in agriculture, food production, landscaping, trades, manufacturing, or warehouse operations is highly valued.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily cultivation and harvest operations
Manage and train farm staff
Maintain production schedules and inventory
Coordinate packing, deliveries, and order fulfillment
Monitor quality, cleanliness, and food safety standards
Assist with farmers markets and special events as needed
Qualifications
Leadership or supervisory experience
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Valid driver's license
Reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented
