The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) manages one of the largest and most diverse state parks systems in the nation. DCR's has a robust statewide Land Protection Program that acquires land and conservation restrictions (CRs) to permanently protect important natural, cultural and recreational resources, increase climate resilience and protect the integrity of the State Parks system.
DCR is hiring a Land Protection Specialist who will plan, coordinate, and implement land protection projects in the West Region (Berkshires) and provide technical assistance and outreach to private individuals, non-profits, and municipal partners throughout the region. As a member of the Land Protection team, this position will manage a portfolio of land acquisition projects from property identification through closing, use GIS and a wide range of technical data to evaluate properties, and represent DCR on land and resource protection issues and initiatives throughout the West region.
