Reports to: Director of Advancement
Hours: 20-40 per week, depending on availability
Wage: $20-23 per hour
Office Presence: Hybrid
Founded in 1992, North County Land Trust (NCLT) is a nonprofit regional land trust dedicated to conserving and stewarding the natural landscapes of sixteen towns and cities in north central Massachusetts. Through land protection, habitat restoration, and community engagement, NCLT works to ensure that forests, farms, and open spaces are preserved for future generations.
Position Summary
The Communications & Engagement Coordinator supports North County Land Trust’s outreach, communications, and community engagement efforts. This role leads execution of core communications and coordinates events and programs to strengthen relationships with supporters and the broader community.
Core Responsibilities
Communications
Plan, coordinate, and produce quarterly print and e-news publications
Draft and manage organizational email communications, including eblasts and announcements
Manage social media platforms on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, including content creation, scheduling, and audience engagement
Support development of annual communications materials, including the annual review
Maintain and restock outreach collateral and branded materials
Engagement & Events
Plan, promote, and coordinate community outreach events
Collaborate with Director of Advancement on signature events
Represent the organization at community events and tabling opportunities including some evenings and weekends
Manage or coordinate other engagement initiatives, as appropriate
Recruit and coordinate with volunteers for events and tabling, when necessary
Administrative Support
Maintain communication lists, memberships, and basic engagement records
Update website content as necessary
Other duties as assigned
Key Qualifications
Minimum 1-3 years experience in communications, community outreach, audience engagement, or similar experience
Strong writing and editing skills
Experience with email marketing and social media platforms
Excellent organizational and project management abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to work after hours and weekends as needed
Must have access to own transportation
Must be able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds
Interest in conservation and community engagement preferred
Experience with Little Green Light or a similar CRM preferred
