More about the course
This course is aimed at those with a strong interest in learning the practical nuts and bolts of land conservation transactions in order to seek employment in this field. It was developed in response to an urgent need to get new practitioners into the professional pipeline to fill staffing needs at land trusts and public agencies across the Commonwealth, as well as to provide a training resource for staff and land trust and municipal volunteers who are new to land protection work. The goal of the course is to provide participants with a basic understanding of the key components of land deals, including landowner communications, project selection, budget development and fundraising, and ensuring sound transactions.
