Applications Due: 2026 Land Protection Tools and Techniques Course

-

8 Sept. Thursdays online, and 2 in-person meetings: Sunday, Sept. 13 and weekend of Nov. 13 - 15

Applications for this 10-week course (8-weeks online and 2 in-person gatherings) are due today, Friday, May 15. The course is aimed at anyone at any career level (including upper-level college students) with a strong interest in learning the nuts and bolts of land conservation transactions for professional application in the Massachusetts land conservation space. It was developed in response to a critical need to get new practitioners into the professional pipeline to fill staffing needs at land trusts and public agencies across the Commonwealth, as well as to provide a training resource for staff and land trust and municipal volunteers who are new to land protection work. The goal of the course is to provide participants with a basic understanding of the key components of land deals, including landowner communications, project selection, budget development and fundraising, and ensuring sound transactions.
