This resource explains that a land trust is a nonprofit organization that works with landowners and communities to permanently conserve land through ownership, conservation restrictions, stewardship, and education. Conservation practitioners can use it to help the public understand what land trusts do, how they protect land, and why these organizations are important partners in local and regional conservation.
