Conference Canceled March 28

March 11, 2020

Dear Land Conservation Community,

On Tuesday March 10, Governor Baker declared a state of emergency in Massachusetts in response to the COVID-19 outbreak and urged organizations to cancel large gatherings. He also advised all state employees not to attend outside meetings and conferences. We are taking this guidance seriously and, out of an abundance of caution, the Massachusetts Land Trust Coalition Board of Directors and staff have made the difficult decision to cancel the Massachusetts Land Conservation Conference scheduled for March 28th in Worcester.

Similar statewide land conservation conferences scheduled for this month have also been called off in Connecticut, New Jersey and California. We are in the process of evaluating whether and how we might postpone the event or develop alternate programming, as well as how to process any refunds due. By March 25, we promise to directly update all presenters, sponsors, exhibitors and registrants with information on next steps. This is an unprecedented situation for us and we thank you for your patience.

The health and well being of our community are of paramount importance to us. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,

Robb Johnson
Executive Director
