Rob works as a land conservation consultant, negotiating land protection projects and advising on funding and partnerships. He recently stepped down after eight years as Managing Director of Conservation for The Trustees of Reservations. His role there included land protection planning, building partnerships with other organizations, overseeing the Conservation Restriction Stewardship Program of The Trustees, supervising the land acquisition staff, and working directly with landowners and partners on Trustees acquisitions. A graduate of Oberlin College with a focus on plant ecology, Rob worked for a decade as a Boston cabinet and furniture maker, then returned to his conservation roots in 1990. Following a brief internship with the MA Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program, he worked for 10 years as Habitat Protection Coordinator with the MA Department of Fish & Game’s land protection program. He also worked with the Massachusetts Chapter of The Nature Conservancy for 14 years, conserving the diverse rare habitats of Massachusetts as Director of Protection & Policy. Today, in addition to consulting, Rob spends more time on design/build projects in wood and metal.
