Julie is the newly retired Director of Mass Audubon's Boston Nature Center (BNC) after 21 years. BNC is one of the nation's first urban nature centers and wildlife sanctuaries. Her work there included providing six of the most diversely and densely populated neighborhoods in Boston with the opportunity to learn about the natural world, conservation, and protection of the environment. Some of her successes included helping interpret the first "green" municipal building in Boston to visitors from around the world, and encouraging traditionally marginalized audiences to build conservation communities. Julie's prior positions include Executive Director of Rosie's Place, and Executive Director of Marshall Home, a licensed residential facility for elders.
