Fish and Wildlife Biologist - Land Acquisition Grants

The Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program (WSFR) of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), Northeast Region partners to fund conservation and connect people with nature. We are hiring several Fish and Wildlife Biologists (GS-0401-11/12) who will be integral members of a program that partners with state agencies, Native American tribes and conservation organizations throughout the Northeast to achieve on the ground conservation results. This dedicated team of professionals administers more than $200 million annually in grants throughout the Northeastern United States to conserve fish and wildlife species and their habitats, provide for aquatic resource and hunter education programs, and expand and improve fish and wildlife oriented recreation and boating access opportunities for the public. Currently, we are hiring for three positions, including:

A biologist responsible for administering grants to states and non-governmental organizations focused on land protection to conserve fish and wildlife habitat and provide opportunities for the public to connect with nature.

These positions offer opportunities to coordinate with other Service programs and to partner and provide technical assistance and support to states, non-governmental organizations and other partners to achieve conservation through the Northeastern United States. Additional positions throughout the country may also be hired under this announcement.
