Conservation Manager

Kestrel Land Trust is an ambitious, nationally accredited land trust serving the Connecticut River Valley in western Massachusetts. We are seeking a Land Conservation Manager who will play a leading role in permanently conserving critical forest and farmland properties, as well as establishing natural parks and trails that serve the diversity of communities throughout this region. This is a great opportunity for an experienced land conservation or natural resource professional to join our growing team of eight staff members as we celebrate Kestrel’s 50th anniversary and the opening of our new office in Amherst, MA. The Land Conservation Manager is responsible for managing land conservation projects under the supervision of the Conservation Director, in collaboration with other staff and volunteer leadership. Responsibilities include working closely with landowners, as well as municipal, state, and federal agencies to secure funding, negotiate terms, and complete projects. The position will also perform other related duties and serve as Kestrel's representative in several regional conservation partnerships.

This full-time position requires strong personal commitment to land conservation, 3 years of experience managing land conservation projects or comparable experience, and cartographic skills (GIS mapping).
