Partner Engagement Committee
The Partner Engagement Committee organizes and coordinates MLTC's quarterly Conservation Partners Meetings. These meetings are open to members, conservation partners, conservation professionals and public agencies involved in conservation of land and natural resources in Massachusetts. Meetings provide for information sharing, networking, advocacy, strategic advice, and coordination among MLTC and organizations who share our focus on conservation and stewardship of environmentally and ecologically sensitive conservation land, including, but not limited to, open spaces, wetlands, forests, farmlands, community gardens, parkland, resource protection areas, and scenic vistas.
The Chair of the Partner Engagement Committee is a non-voting member of MLTC's Board of Trustees and serves as a liaison between the Board and the broader land conservation community. The current Chair is Kathy Orlando. (June 2023)
Participation
A portion of the June Conservation Partners Meeting is typically devoted to MLTC's annual meeting. Only dues-paying land trust members of MLTC are eligible to vote on matters brought to a vote at such meetings, but all are welcome to attend.
A typical meeting often includes:
- Presentation on a topic of general interest or of critical importance to the conservation community
- Status of current policy initiatives
- Update on state environmental agency matters and potential state funding opportunities
- Update from MLTC and Land Trust Alliance staff on regional land conservation issues and upcoming trainings
The Partner Engagement Committee welcomes suggestions for topics of interest or discussion. Please send suggestions to info@massland.org.
